I am so blessed to meet such inspiring teens doing what I love. Katie Berger is a perfect example of a well rounded, smart, fun, and beautiful young lady. Katie is a Class of 2021 graduate from Clark Advanced Learning Center and Indian River State College (IRSC), where she was dually enrolled, and received her AA with straight As from both throughout her high school years. She earned a 6.4 weighted GPA and ranked 6th in her graduating class! With her excellent grades, ACT / SAT scores, and volunteer service hours, she also earned Florida Academic Scholar Bright Futures Scholarship, which covers 100% tuition. Congrats, Katie!
Katie is a naturally born leader. She participated in the Martin Youth LEADERship program and attended several leadership conferences at the University of Florida. She was Secretary of her Freshman class and of the National Honor Society, an extremely active club with 80 members, during her Sophomore year. She was president President during her senior year after she was appointed by the club sponsor, due to her significant involvement in club activities and initiation of a “hospital drive.” She led NHS members in donating supplies, snacks, and masks to hospital staff at the South Hospital at the beginning of the pandemic. Despite her busy schedule, Katie still enjoyed spending time and hanging out with her friends.
I believe senior photos should not be limited to a one-time cookie cutter experience mandated by the school. Instead, senior photos should be tailored to the individual senior and take place several times during the senior year. A few of the locations we chose for Katie's sessions were Palm City, Sandsprit Park, Indian Riverside Park, and in-studio of course.
Don't Katie's cap & gown pics look amazing? Not only does she look beautiful, but I love when the senior is able to dress in her full regalia, with the stoles and cords they worked so hard to earn. Katie also shares her college decision and shows us her artistic talents as she used orange flowers to decorate the "UF" letters on her blue cap.
What's next for Katie? She's a Gator now! Katie will attend the University of Florida and will major in Political Science and then attend Law School. Katie is excited to begin her college experience, meet new people and learn more about the world!
Thank you, Katie, for choosing me to be your high school senior photographer. I truly enjoyed our time together and getting to know you throughout your senior year! I had so much fun photographing you. You are a natural in front of the camera!
